Ann was born in the north of England. From an early age was passionate about Horses wildlife and nature and could always be found sketching animals,  She trained as a nurse and followed that career for many years. She moved to the south some years ago and started painting in 1996. Since then she has enjoyed growing success. Ann lays no claim to a long list of training accreditations. Although self taught she learns from, and is inspired by many wildlife artists. Ann has exhibited with numerous art societies, including N.E.W.A and M.I.W.A.S.  More recently has exhibited with the Equestrian Art Society at the Mall Galleries and Christies Sporting & Wildlife Auctions in London. She has won several awards for her work. In 2006 she was awarded "The Amateur Wildlife Artist Of The Year"  by Wildscape. In 2007 she was awarded the Foster wells trophy for best in Exhibition and the Jan Murrey Trophy for best Oil Painting at R.A.S. Summer Exhibition. Ann has just been awarded runner up Amateur Wildlife Artist of the year 2008, presented by Wildscape for her painting "You Looking at Me"

"I continually look for a new challenge in my work, I believe this is the only way I can improve. As I said Painting is a life long journey, I'm always looking for the next to be my best,  and to learn something new from it. If this ever stops it will be time to give up."

"In September 2004 I was privileged to go on safari to Botswana. I had the opportunity to photograph many of my favourite animals-Leopard,Cheetah,Elphant,Giraffe, Lions, Wild Dog, Hippo, and many more. Seeing and capturing these magnificent animals on film was awesome. I just hope that I can portray some of the experiences and atmosphere in my paintings for others to share. This elephant was not to happy about our intrusion into his part of the okavango, but the Leopard was totally undisturbed by our presence - in fact he seemed to pose for us"

According to a global estimate, in the past 100 years, tiger populations have declined by 95%. Of the eight sub-spieces of tiger, three have become extinct in the past 50years. I hope that in some way through my art, I can bring attention to the plight of these magnificent creatures. I believe education and conservation should work together if we are to prevent all tigers becoming extinct in the wild. Marwell Zoo are very actively involved in the conservation of tigers both in captivity and in the wild. http://www.marwell.org.uk
